Opened in December of 2006, Lakewood Ranch Cinemas has become the realization of a large and ambitious dream. Boasting six full auditorium screens, a built-in classroom, a spacious lobby, and a scenic view, our theater at Lakewood Ranch has provided Sarasota Film Society with exponentially more opportunities to bring all new sides of the film industry to the community in various exciting new ways.
Standing apart in its choice of feature presentations, the opening of Lakewood Ranch Cinemas has permanently increased the overall value of the Sarasota Film Society membership by allowing our patrons to see a wider selection of films. While different from the films shown at Burns Court, the films chosen to play at Lakewood Ranch are of equal value to the film-loving community. We firmly believe that all films are of intrinsic artistic value, and that there are many reasons to go to the movies, not the least of which is fun!
